Cebu Air, Inc., the operator of budget carrier Cebu Pacific, said it is taking a cautious approach to capacity and pricing as it enters the seasonally slower third quarter, following a decline in passenger traffic in May, according to BusinessWorld.
The airline carried 2.40 million passengers in May, down 1.6% from 2.44 million a year earlier, reflecting softer demand. The decline comes ahead of the typically weaker third quarter, when travel demand often eases after the summer peak.
Cebu Pacific’s cautious stance on capacity and pricing underscores its strategy to navigate the softer demand environment. The carrier is expected to adjust its flight schedules and fare offerings in the coming months to align with the seasonal slowdown.
