The Bureau of Customs (BoC) announced the seizure of P35.4 million worth of smuggled agricultural products stored in a cold storage facility in Nueva Ecija, according to a report by BusinessWorld .

Authorities discovered 6,088 bags of small yellow onions from Holland and 1,080 bags of big yellow onions from China during the operation. The smuggled goods were found in cold storage, indicating an attempt to preserve the perishable items for illegal distribution.

The BoC issued a statement on Monday detailing the seizure, underscoring its continued efforts to curb agricultural smuggling, which undermines local farmers and deprives the government of revenue.
