The Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) will submit its recommendation on whether to extend the suspension of excise taxes on kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) beyond the initial three-month period, the Department of Finance said, as reported by BusinessWorld. Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go said the matter is being discussed within the DBCC’s technical working group.

The suspension of excise taxes on these fuel products was initially implemented for three months beginning April 2026 under Executive Order No. 83, aimed at easing the burden on consumers amid rising fuel prices. The DBCC is now evaluating whether the suspension should be extended further based on current economic conditions and fiscal impact.

An extension would require another executive order if recommended by the DBCC and approved by the President. The decision is expected to be announced before the current suspension expires at the end of June.
