BAGUIO CITY — The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) turned over P5 million to the Baguio City government to strengthen community-based drug prevention and rehabilitation efforts, BusinessWorld reported.

DDB Undersecretary Armando Ramolete, during last Monday’s flag raising rites at the Baguio City Hall, said the grant will fund the enhancement and rehabilitation of a local multipurpose facility. The DDB official did not specify which facility, but the funding is part of the national government’s support for local government units in addressing drug abuse at the community level.

The grant aligns with the DDB’s community-based drug rehabilitation program, which emphasizes treatment and reintegration rather than incarceration. Baguio City has been recognized for its anti-drug initiatives, and the additional funding is expected to further develop its capacity to provide intervention services to drug dependents.
