President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. said the government is far from finished investigating alleged multibillion-peso flood control anomalies, claiming the corruption scheme his administration exposed predates his term in office. Speaking during a livestreamed news briefing in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday, Mr. Marcos rejected allegations of his own involvement in the irregularities, according to a report by BusinessWorld.

The investigation, which Marcos described as ongoing, targets contracts awarded under previous administrations. The president emphasized that the current probe aims to uncover the full extent of the alleged irregularities and hold accountable those responsible, regardless of their political affiliations.

Marcos made the remarks amid mounting public scrutiny over the flood control projects that have cost the government billions of pesos. He assured the public that no one would be spared from the investigation and that the administration remains committed to transparency and good governance.
