The Maharlika Investment Corp. (MIC) is projecting core net income of P3.3 billion this year as dividends from its key investments begin to come in, the state-run fund said.

According to MIC, the projected earnings are driven by dividends from its investees and interest income generated from its investment portfolio. The company noted that the anticipated dividend flows have started to materialize, marking a significant step in the fund’s early operations.

The P3.3 billion target represents one of the first concrete payoffs for the Philippine sovereign wealth fund, which has faced scrutiny over its investment strategy. MIC’s leadership expressed confidence that continued income from its holdings will support future returns to the government and help fund priority projects.
