PAL Holdings, Inc. has appointed Edgar O. Chua and Datuk Captain Izham Ismail as independent directors, strengthening its board as Philippine Airlines pushes fleet renewal and international network growth, according to BusinessWorld .
Mr. Chua brings corporate leadership experience from various board roles, while Mr. Izham contributes aviation expertise as a former managing director of Malaysia Airlines. Their appointments are expected to provide strategic guidance as the flag carrier expands its route network and modernizes its fleet.
The board changes come as Philippine Airlines continues recovering from the pandemic, adding new destinations and aircraft. PAL Holdings Chairman and CEO Lucio C. Tan said the new directors would help shape the airline’s long-term strategy.
