Peasant and climate justice groups, under the June 10 Land Rights Committee, expressed support for a proposed dialogue with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to expedite the resolution of land rights cases involving thousands of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs). According to a report by BusinessWorld , the coalition comprises farmers, fisherfolk, indigenous peoples, and other stakeholders.

The groups emphasized that unresolved land disputes threaten both agricultural productivity and climate resilience. They argued that secure land tenure is essential for sustainable farming practices and for the effective implementation of climate adaptation measures.

The proposed dialogue aims to address the backlog of cases and ensure that ARBs can fully exercise their rights. The coalition called on DAR to prioritize these cases and to work with civil society to find lasting solutions.
