In anticipation of the annual typhoon season, PLDT Home has announced a series of network hardening and customer support enhancements, as reported by YugaTech. The company stated it is investing in backup power systems, flood-resistant equipment, and redundant fiber routes to maintain connectivity during severe weather. These measures aim to address the recurring challenges faced by Filipino families, who often experience service disruptions during storms.
On the customer support front, PLDT Home detailed plans to deploy additional field repair teams and streamline reporting channels through its mobile app and hotline. The company also stated it will preposition backup power generators and spare equipment in strategic locations across the country to enable faster restoration. This aligns with the company’s broader disaster preparedness strategy, which includes proactive network monitoring and coordination with local government units.
The initiative comes as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) projects an average number of tropical cyclones entering the country this year. With internet connectivity becoming increasingly essential for work, education, and communication, PLDT Home aims to minimize downtime and provide a reliable service even under adverse conditions. The company emphasized that network resilience investments are part of its long-term commitment to improving customer experience.
