Rice inventory dropped 10.1% to 2.51 million metric tons as of July 1, while corn stocks rose 33.9%, BusinessWorld reported, citing the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Of the total rice stock, 47.7% was held by commercial traders, 38% by households, and 13.3% by depositories of the National Food Authority. The inventory data are part of the PSA's monthly monitoring of agricultural commodity stocks.

The decline in rice inventory could influence supply conditions in the coming months, while the rise in corn stocks provides a buffer for feed and other uses. The PSA's next report will show how these levels affect prices and food security.
