The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 0.53% or 30.56 points to close at 5,799.32 on Monday, according to a BusinessWorld report. Bargain hunting and a rebound in May manufacturing activity data supported the gains.

The broader all shares index also went up, but cautious sentiment kept the main benchmark below the 5,800 mark. Investors took advantage of lower prices after recent declines.

Analysts noted that while the positive data provided a boost, ongoing uncertainties may limit further upside. The market will continue to monitor economic indicators and global trends.
