According to TechPinas, Smart Communications Inc. is one of the first companies in the Philippines to welcome Apple Pay. Starting August 4, Smart and TNT subscribers can use Apple Pay to buy prepaid load and pay Smart Postpaid or Smart Infinity bills at Smart Stores nationwide and through the Smart Online Store.
Apple Pay transactions require Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, and card information stays private. The service works on supported Apple devices such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Customers can use it at physical Smart Stores or online for faster checkout.
The move adds another cashless payment option for Filipino mobile users, aligning with Smart's push for digital convenience. By adopting Apple Pay early, Smart gives subscribers more flexible ways to manage prepaid and postpaid accounts while supporting the broader growth of mobile wallet adoption in the Philippines.
