The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) has intensified its campaign against the red-striped soft scale insect, a pest that threatens sugarcane farms, according to a report by Philstar Biz.

The agency is deploying chemical spraying drones to cover larger areas more efficiently and providing financial assistance to affected farmers to mitigate crop losses.

These measures aim to protect the country's sugar industry, which is a key agricultural sector, by controlling the pest outbreak and supporting farmers' recovery efforts.
