The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced that it has invited suppliers to bid for emergency communication equipment contracts worth P351.19 million, as reported by BusinessWorld. The deadline for bid submissions was set for July 6.

The procurement is part of the DICT’s ongoing expansion of the National Emergency Communications strategic plan, which aims to enable the use of information and communications technology (ICT) in disaster response and public safety operations across the country.

The initiative reflects the government’s push to strengthen communication infrastructure for emergency situations, ensuring reliable connectivity during disasters. Interested suppliers were required to meet technical and financial eligibility criteria outlined in the bidding documents.
